A young boy is brought to Val Robert Inn after having been hit by a car. When he awakens, he does not remember who he is. Yet he seems to know about certain events that took place in the Inn years ago, before his birth.

Dominique Champlain, the owner of the Inn, is convinced that the boy is possessed by the spirit of his dead nephew. He calls up John Marsan, hoping that the expert will confirm his belief. Laurie accompanies John, and starts her own investigation...
