Marie Turgeon studied ballet all through her childhood and became a semi-professional dancer. Although she dreamed of being a doctor, she never turned away from her artistic talents, taking up drama classes during her college days. For Marie, acting was just a hobby at first, but she eventually got more serious, and at the age of 20, she applied to the department of Theatre and Communications at the University of Ottawa.
Marie's experience in the world of dance proved very useful - the precision of movement and physical expression acquired through ballet served her well on stage. It wasn't long before she turned to the cameras, bringing her energy and dynamism to the television show "Télé-Campus".
With two degrees under her belt, Marie continued acting in Ottawa for a couple of years. Television producers were impressed by her ability and they contacted her once her studies were finished. She was soon acting in her first TV show for kids, "Imagine" . When the show lost its edge after becoming a victim of its own success, Marie decided to move to Toronto. She lived there for 6 years, working on the animation series "Volt", then on to "Cinécure" where she covered the biggest festivals. Tireless, she continued acting for the theatre at the same time - and her passion for it grew even more intense.
Marie returned to Montreal and the parts came rolling in. We've recently seen her in "Rumeurs", "Catherine", "The Last Chapter" , etc... Marie played her first role as a mother with lots of emotion in 11 Somerset - she now has her own 3 year-old daughter, Beatrice.
