Thanh Bein is Laurie's classmate. Her name means " lovely dawn " in Vietnamese. She's been living alone with her mother in Montreal ever since her father moved back to Vietnam.
Thanh's nervous temperament makes her gullible and easily frightened. Still, she's a loyal friend, at once gentle and discreet. She is sensitive to others and knows how to comfort Laurie after the loss of her father.
Orphée's been modeling for fashion magazines since the age of six. She attracted attention at a personality contest in 2001, and one of the judges suggested that she try acting. After working as an extra on several projects, Orph´e got her first real role on 11 Somerset.
Orphée has kept her mother's Quebecois maiden name. Her Vietnamese father's name, Hai Bang Nguyen, happens to be very similar to Thanh's, the character Orphée plays in 11 Somerset.
Orphée is about to graduate from an international high-school. She hopes to continue training as an actor, and plans to study communications and apply to the National Theater School.
Since the age of 8, Orphée's been doing Tae Kwon Do, a Korean variant of Karate. She participates in national competitions and hopes to compete one day at an international level.
Orphée attained her first dream by acting in 11 Somerset, and now she wants to follow it up with other adventures - a visit to her father's homeland, Vietnam, and more acting... who knows, maybe even in the USA!
